In May 2012 we went out to Turkey.

I wanted to see two sites in particular. Firstly I wanted to see the amazing Neolithic site of Gobekli Tepe, which meant flying down to Urfa in South Eastern Turkey.

While we were there, we also went on to visit the site of Harran today a village of domed houses but once the site of the Roman Carrhae and later one of the largest mosques in Turkey.

We then returned to Istanbul, where I wanted to visit the excavations at the Theodosian harbour in advance of the new railway, and here too, I have some fantastic images to display.
